Squirrel Stopper 4 cake Suet Feeder Review
In addition to holding 4 standard size suet or seed cakes, the Squirrel Stopper 4 cake suet feeder features a solid lid to keep your suet and birds dry, and a very easy to use side-opening door.
The door on the actual suet holder also opens to the side, and the holder is fully enclosed (top too).
There is a gap between the top of the suet holder and the lid, so it's possible that a small bird could get trapped there, but I don't consider that very likely.
The extra high capacity means you won't have to add more suet as often, and side loading lets you refill as needed without taking the cage down or unscrewing the lid.
The outer cage mesh is 1.5" square, big enough for smaller birds like chickadees, wrens and nuthatches to get right inside, and the suet is close enough to the cage for woodpeckers to reach it, but squirrels can't get at the food at all!
One great feature of this feeder is that the floor of the cage is open, which means crumbs and bird droppings don't build up in the bottom.
If 4 cakes at a time doesn't work for you, this feeder also comes in a 2-cake version.
You can also get this feeder with either a red cover or a green cover, depending on your preference, and the steel loop on top makes it very easy to install.
Who is this product for?
If your suet-loving birds are losing out to squirrels, this feeder will solve the problem. It's sturdy enough to stand up to raccoons too.
On the other hand, it's probably not deep enough to discourage grackles, and young starlings might be able to squeeze inside.
